NOTE: A critical bug was just identified on iPhone 4. Video files cannot be copied from iTunes, so only video files taken with your camera can be used. Songs from iTunes can be used.

NOTE: The app was just released. Please report any bugs to [email protected]. The app works well on iPhone 4 and newer. We are working on some critical bugs for iPhone 3GS (iOS6) and on iOS5.

This (patent pending) app lets you “rewire” or “repattern” your brain to reduce or eliminate reactions to your misophonia visual triggers.

This app delivers the trigger is an extremely reduced, non-upsetting way, so that you can be happy and experience a tiny dose of the trigger. When you see a trigger, you will feel part of your body flinch. That small jerk is caused by your Lizard Brain (technically your ANS). You will not get angry. You will not be upset. As the reflex response to the trigger decreases, you can increase the strength of the trigger.

The trigger video can be altered in 3 ways to make it less triggering. First, you can turn the volume down or even off. Second, you can shorten the video so you only see the trigger for a moment. Third, you can reduce the brightness of the trigger, which really reduces the reflex.

What you need:
1. You need a video file that will trigger you. You may need to record and edit this file. (Tom Dozier can provide editing).
2. You need something that makes you happy. You can use your favorite music, pics, and/or video clips. Pick ones that will make you VERY happy, or VERY relaxed. Being happy works faster than being relaxed.

You create a Playlist with your happy material. You can watch the playlist on your phone and every so often, the trigger video will show. You are in control. You determine how often the trigger plays. This needs to be a HAPPY TIME–a time to relax to the music or laugh at funny videos, and painlessly reduce your misophonia reactions.

It is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED that you have guidance for the use of the app from Tom Dozier. The minimum recommended guidance is a 15-minute consultation every 1-2 weeks, which costs $30.

This misophonia treatment has been shown to work when a person has very specific triggers. For example, if you trigger to a family member chewing, you can reduce or eliminate that trigger. If you trigger to the chewing sounds of anyone (and anywhere), then this method will only reduce the specific triggers/person that you treat. This can be very important in when triggers develop to someone close to you.

Most people who use this treatment say that they feel a physical response to the trigger, but no irritation or anger. With this app, you will be able to feel your initial physical reflex. The trigger stimulus causes a physical movement/jerk in your body. The jerk in your body causes the extreme emotions. This happens so quickly in real life that it all seems to happen at once. But with the modified, reduced trigger video, you will be able to feel the tiny physical reflex, and learn something important about your misophonia.

After you eliminate the reflex response to the 3 videos of the same trigger, you are probably ready to try the trigger in real life. You may react a little, but it will be much less than before the treatment.
